Lovenox, which is generically known as enoxaparin sodium, is an anticoagulant drug used to for treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It is manufactured by Sanofi and is generally administered by injection. Often, this drug will be prescribed by doctors following hip replacement, knee replacement, and abdominal surgery.
